I’m so glad I painted this one while Mike Ferris sitll had his dairy cows. As you can see, it is high summer and the trees are flouncy and the grass is good and high. I love to follow the sweep of a landscape and this one does that for me, with its expansive view of the entire farmstead’s pastures. Behind me are some hay fields up the road, where it flattens out some, but here it feels like a roller coaster ride from one side of the hills to the other until the land drops off behind the distant farmhouse.
