Sometimes in late winter and very early spring, the weather can be quite dramatic with the changes in temperatures, causing large plumes of fog to lift off of the snow and ice and the sun to glitter on the ice in the rivers and on the crusts of snow cover. The knotweed sometimes can look very very red. it’s not every year I’ve observed, but it was this year, cheering up the blue grey bitterness of this hurly burly late winter afternoon.
