This pair also belongs to my neighbor Derek. One of the pair got into the feed and passed away from colic. It broke Derek’s heart. He was the mischievous one that the other always was chiding to behave himself. It’s often like that with a team. One is all business and the other has to be kept in line. They are here in a “sugar” snow, which is a heavy snow that we often get in Vermont during sugaring season collecting maple sap. It sticks to everything and melts in a day or so. Meanwhile it is very beautiful.
