Painting the light coming through old style canvas sails thrills me. They are so warm, yet can bleach out white as can be in full sunlight. The old sails are incomparable in my view. Having sailed on modern racers, the sails are beautiful in their own way, but the sails are slick and remind me of polyester suits lol! The lines on the newer vessels are without charm compared to the curves of these old vessels that more naturally conform to the shapes of nature.
